Good information....my daughter read this book over and over and actually became a model!

A very good book for anyone, from novice to experienced. As a model for over 30 years, I'm still learning and I love the various markets she covers which really help many.

I bought it because it had my girlfriend in it

i wasn't very impressed. i bought the book for an airplane ride and was very disappointed to find how often the author wrote (these are examples) "you can find great ones online" or "skin care tips online" or "list of top best photogs worldwide online." i didn't have a computer and i wanted to know what they were talking about. if you don't have access to a computer 24/7 this book is not for you. EVEN if you have access to a computer 24/7 this book is not for you cause than you CAN look it all up.

Books about Modeling sometimes tend to play to fantasies about making it big and becoming the next supermodel. Debbie Press provides solid advice about the business of modeling. Real-life examples illustrate how a "wanna be" can maximize his or her potential to succeed as a model.

This catalogue raisonne indexes fifty-two posters created by Andy Warhol from 1964 (midcareer) until his death in 1987. This opening line in the book describes what you will get and not get in the book. By focussing on commissioned posters you will not see posters announcing Warhol's exhibitions. But as the author's note he rarely had any hand in these type of promotional materials. Film posters are not included as well as posters simply reproducing Warhol's artwork. The focus is on posters and new artwork created specifically for a commissioned project. Each poster gets a detailed background essay and is reproduced in color. The reproductions are very good, paper is thick, and the binding is solid. There are relevant accompanying illustrations for each project as well. The book has some familiar images and a number of surprises. Definitely not the place to start for someone new to Warhol or looking for his fine art. But if you simply can't get enough Andy Warhol this is an enjoyable book and recommended.

As someone who is old enough to have been around when Warhol's art would pop up on randomrecord covers or he'd show up on a Branniff Airlines commercial, I do remember some of theseposters and the campaigns they represented in their original appearances. Warhol may havebrought the world of advertising art into his Fine Art initially, but in the 70's and 80's, he alsoreversed the equation and brought the aesthetic of Warhol Fine Art back into advertising, andit's still an important influence today although often in the hands of young media artists whowere not yet born when Warhol passed away.This book is essentially a Catalog Raisonne of posters created by Warhol on commission---what is and is not included in this work is clearly explained in the introduction. Only posters created by Warhol in their poster form (not posters made from Warhol album covers and from movie posters and from artworks, but NOT made explicitly as a poster by Warhol) are included, all beautifully reproduced in a gorgeous oversized hardcover volume and all featuring a comprehensive writeup on the backstory of the piece and of Warhol's creative process. It is a pleasure to thumb through the book once one has read the text and learned the facts. I keep my copy handy.The author did a magnificent job on Warhol's album covers in a previous book and later this year will have an oversized volume appearing doing a similar job with Warhol's Complete Commissioned Magazine work. Not only were these the works that paid the bills (along with the portraits) and allowed Warhol to do have the funds to do whatever he wanted in his private work, but they were also widely seen in their day (well, many of them were) and were the way Warhol reached audiences who'd never see a gallery show of his 70's and 80's work.We know now how prolific Warhol was in the 70's and 80's, and much of that work was unseen in the artist's lifetime, or a small part of a suite of works might have been exhibited overseas in a show few in America would ever hear about. There is literally much more Warhol art available to be seen and studied and enjoyed now than was during the artist's lifetime. We're all richer for that.This beautiful and important collection not only provides the definitive documentation of an important aspect of Warhol's work (and Warhol's business) over a 23 year period, but it's also a visually stunning and intellectually engaging collection with a superb factual text, and I can't imagine anyone even casually "into" Warhol not loving it. Considering the book's size and quality, it's also a perfect gift for that Warhol person in your life.No, these are not the most "important" works Warhol ever did, but the Warhol aesthetic and the Warhol method are clearly present in every work here, and if a Martian or someone stranded on the proverbial desert island, someone who'd never heard of Warhol and seen his influence in American and world culture, were presented with this volume, I think he/she/it would "get" what Warhol was about and would find the work both fascinating and pleasurable. What more could one ask?

Arrived as expected. It's a Warhol anthology as expected. I am enjoying the book and the art within.

Bought having recently seen the NY show on Warhol and never appreciating just how incredible his early work was, as reproduced here in this beautiful publication.

It's hard to remember but before becoming an American icon, Andy Warhol was one of the most sought-after commercial illustrators in New York city before turning into a fine artist. With his delicate blotted line transfer drawings Warhol's work had flair and joyfulness that didn't always come through in his fine art. I am very disappointed with this cookbook first of all the whole book is black and white except for the cover and there was no option to get a colored book. Also allot of the recipes in the book call for non keto ingredients like: potato ,cranberry, Apples, liquid sucralose, maple syrup, peaches. This book is not worth the money at all and it is not keto friendly. You can get all these recipes on YouTube for free with better ingredients and better directions.

I have made two recipes from the book so far. My husband is on Keto in an effort to lose weight. I have made the Jalapeño Bacon and the Bacon and Egg ones today. He said they're delicious, and he doesn't lie, lol. If he doesn't like a food, he will say so.This was a free book for me, so I always love that. I also liked I can make them from standard ingredients already in my kitchen, and not have to go to the ends of the earth for them.👍Thanks!

He has brought the refinement, comfort, and beauty of his designs to a long list of clients from the worlds of entertainment, business, fashion, and high society. Emily Evans Eerdmans received her master’s degree in fine and decorative arts from Sotheby’s Institute of Art in London and is a leading authority on antique furniture and interior design. She has authored The World of Madeleine Castaing and Regency Redux. Paige Rense is the editor emeritus of Architectural Digest, where she served as editor in chief from 1975 to 2010.

I have waited impatiently for many years to have a book written on my favorite interior designer, Mario Buatta. I first viewed his English Country rooms back in college and was awestruck by his talent. The Prince of Chintz has such a distinct style I could always spot his rooms immediately.While reading I was enchanted by the wit of Mario as he describes his career throughout the years. He has a sense of humor that is as delightful as his flower strewn rooms.I was shocked by the disparaging comments on the photography. I treasure this book and I have a virtual library of interior design books but by far this one will stand out as the best! Most of the photos are clear and as bright as fresh cut daisies. Mario's book reminds me of a field of fresh flowers blooming in the homes of the people privileged and lucky enough to have him transform their spaces.The huge tome has a gorgeous photo on the front which eliminates the need for a cover that will tear with time. Their is a bright yellow ribbon bookmark that is as pretty as it is helpful. All in all I rate this book five stars and recommend it to all the readers who admire Mario's work and anyone interested in English design. You will not be disappointed. You will feel uplifted with every page as I did. Louise Glass

After whining for years that this book didn't exist, I'm so thankful to finally have a book in my library showcasing the work of one of my very favorite designers, Mario Buatta. As many have mentioned, the production of the photos for this book could have been better but they aren't horrible and they are huge! If you've always loved Mario's work or love traditional decor, you'll love this big, beautiful 432 page book. I love a decorating book with lots of photos and this book delivers! The stories inside are really interesting, too. They are a window into a past and a world many of us have never had privy to seeing or learning about. Awesome book...just long overdue!

I am a big fan of Mario Buatta so it is very hard for me to find any fault with his book. The style, design layout, colors, and photography are a joy to us Buatta lovers. If I did not have such a jaundice eyed love for anything Buatta, I guess I would be critical of the quality and age of some of the pictures. A number of the photos from "long ago" appear blurred and very dated. It seems to me they could have come up with more current images and reduce the "oldies" to a minimum and still show the development of his career thru time. Too many blurry pictures.

I was pleasantly surprised at how much I love this book. I would have bought it whether it was good or not. I have always loved Buatta and followed his work ever since I first learned of him.The first part of the book is great, the only thing not good is some of the fabrics are dated but the decoration is still as wonderful as when it was first published. For me, this book is a Buatta collectors item. A must have. I wish all my favorite designers would do books with their best work for us lovers of interior design and decoration... Dan Carrithers is one that comes to mind...Thank you Mr Buatta. Well done.

One of my favorite designers, however, the book was not as expected. Few of the gorgeous chintz designs photos... a little disappointing.

Mario Buatta is truly a genius and here is the proof! Often referred to as "The Price of Chintz", Buatta really has such a way with fabric and color that is so refreshing and fun. This book also illustrates the fact that he's rather fun character as well. There are lots of photos of rooms that inspire and ideas to borrow. I will wrap this up now, and get to work painting the dining room the perfect shade of parrot!!!

This is a charming book with beautiful photographs. Buatta has a major place in late-20th century decorating and this book does him justice. His introduction and comments throughout the book are a delight to read. He comes across as fun, creative and exciting person - amazingly without a big ego. Even if his version of the English Country House look isn't your style, this is a great reference for any design library and a treat to read and enjoy. I liked it so much, I bought another copy as a gift for someone I love.

This is a beautiful book. However, the quality of some of the pictures is rather poor. they look as though they were copied from an old magazine so the color and the crispness of the detail is diminished. Nevertheless, for a fan of Mario Buatta's style of design, this is a must have book.
