My daughter loves Barbie and she loves reading, so this seemed like the perfect book for her. I do like that there are multiple books for a decent price, but even the Level 2 books do not seem as complex as some of our Step into Reading Level 2 books. The good thing about these books is that they can help peak the interest of a beginning reader who is struggling with confidence. My daughter enjoyed reading them, and she frequently flips through the book to reread parts, so that is good enough for me.

I bought these for my granddaughter for her birthday. She is in kindergarten and just learning how to read. She loves Barbie and loves to read these books. I think being a good reader is the foundation of all education. These books have captured her attention and has helped her learn sight words. She gets a big kick of pointing out the words she knows and accepts the challenge to sound out some words as well. These are great books. An added bonus is these books are a good way to remind her she can be anything she wants to be when she grows up.

This was purchased as a gift and is too late to return. First and last stories are not correctly printed and stories are not complete. Three middle stories are fine.

I have six children of my own and teaching them to read is an important challenge. I think the Barbie story collection is GREAT! It "Hits the Spot" perfectly. The book uses a lot of high frequency words. It starts off a little easy and each story gets a little more challenging. The content of the book is nice too. My daughter loves it.

My 6 year old loves to read these stories. We rented it from the library at first. And then bought it because she liked it so much.

My beginning reader loves this book because she can read it herself, with a little help on some of the words. Great collection, and much cheaper than buying each book individually.

I didn't realize this was a single book with five stories within it until I received it but it's a great book for young kids

My 5yo received this for her birthday and promptly read the whole thing the next day. She loves it and has continued re-reading it often. If you have a new reader and they love Barbie, then this is ideal. They may need help with a few words and names, but overall it's great!

I liked the book, and I got exactly what was promised - a well-researched deep-dive into the decades of litigations against The Beatles (as well as in their solo years). It seems fairly clear that the death of original manager Brian Epstein and the insinuation of Allen Klein spelled the demise of what was once a seemingly inseparable and artistically cohesive band.

I've read a bit about these topics going back to 'Apple To the Core' McCabe Schonfeld 1972 and Jon Wiener's books and this is a great read!I wonder how they had time to pursue their artistic endeavors with all this going on, gives a bit more depth to the 'business' of being a 'legendary rock star'.

A wealth of financial info as regards the Fab Four. Not for everyone but Beatles nerds will love it!

The book'Baby,You're A Rich Man" by Stan Soocher was a disappointment,didn't finish reading it. Why he spent 2 chapters talking about John Lennon's deportation problem is beyond me,had nothing to do with the topic. I only recommend this book if you are a die hard Beatles fan,which I'm not. Sue

According to the contents of this book, being a member of the “Fab Four” was often less than fabulous. Rephrasing the title of their hit song, “I Want to Hold Your Hand” to “I Want to Take Your Money” gives the reader an idea of the sorry saga told within these pages. Payola, back room deals, dummy corporations, and the eventual splintering of the mop-top quartet famously known as The Beatles is carefully outlined in this well researched and fully documented work. What may surprise the reader is how much political pressure and governmental meddling here in the United States added to the emotional and financial woes of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr. The ugly relationships involving artists, record companies, managers, and hangers-on provides a cautionary tale for would-be entertainers. One can forgive the foursome of bitterness as serial lawsuits, tax collectors, and immigration officials stripped away copyrights, civil liberties, and basic common courtesies. Long story short, just as where there’s smoke there’s fire, so to where there’s great wealth, there’s naked greed.

I received this book from LibraryThing's Early Reviewers program.The author certainly did his homework! There are references for everything, and a bibliography if you're interested in further reading. My personal recommendation for more reading on the subject would be "You Never Give Me Your Money: The Beatles After the Breakup" by Peter Doggett, 2009. I read one right after the other, and the books complement each another.As another reviewer stated, I wonder how they had time to make any music with all of this going on! From copyright infringement to the IRS attempt to procure a LOT of money that was earmarked for UNICEF, this story amazed me. I will never hear Beatles' songs the same way again; now each era of their music will be remembered with the bit of history behind it as contained in this book.There were some things I really would have rather NOT known, but that's life, right? I won't elaborate on that since everyone has their own opinion. One sad thing, though, and this could be a spoiler if you didn't already know it, was a ruling by a St. Louis bankruptcy judge, Barry Schermer, against George Harrison in July 2001 (Harrison had filed against his former manager, Denis O'Brien for mishandling of funds - O'Brien lost that case, was ordered to pay $11 million to Harrison but instead of paying it, he filed bankruptcy) because George couldn't travel from England for a deposition, due to his illness. From p. 222: "Unbelievably, Judge Schermer accused George of attempting 'to fool this court... Harrison's disregard of an order to answer questions was obviously willful.' Sadly, Harrison died from cancer only a few weeks after the harsh decision was issued."Another surprising situation, or maybe not considering that the IRS was involved, was that agency's attempt to grab millions of dollars from the Concert for Bangladesh monies which were obtained from George Harrison's (also appearing were Ravi Shankar, Bob Dylan, Leon Russell, Billy Preston, Badfinger, Eric Clapton and Ringo Starr, among others) live concert at Madison Square Garden in NYC, and subsequent sales of related merchandise. You will have to read the book to see how that complicated situation played out over the years.One more thing that I knew very little about, or perhaps had forgotten, as a lot of years have passed since the Beatles' glory days, was Allen Klein, Beatles manager after Brian Epstein, and his shenanigans, and there are many! Another interesting character in this tale is Morris Levy.If you have ever been a fan of the Beatles, or if you just love music, I think you will really enjoy this book, just be aware that, as the rest of us, they have 'feet of clay'.

Baby You're a Rich Man by Stan Soocher is a very interesting read. This volume ties together the various legal and financial battles which surrounded the Beatles as soon as they began to make money. I would likely have given 4.5 stars if available, my only issue is something that is difficult to completely avoid when writing about these issues, a certain amount of dryness creeps in periodically. That said, Soocher keeps that to a minimum and never loses sight of the artistic aspect of the group.Definitely recommended for any Beatles fan as well as those interested in the business side of the music business. The book was great. I read through it at home and some how managed to loss it on the way to the Dominican Republic. Was very disappointed that I lost it.

DK is the perfect travel guide, don't travel anywhere without it.

I was disappointed in this book. It was the only book available that had been written and published in the last year. Every other book was old. I wanted up to date information and this book really doesn't cover much in the way of food safety, weather, specific tourist areas. Mostly a glossy over view of the country and museums.

Not a great coffee table book.-Images are shown in black and white.-There are no face shots.-In case it wasn't immediately apparent, the focus is squarely on the penis.With all of that in mind, I have to say that I really loved this book. Giovanni is quite brave here - he acknowledges and embraces the eroticism and desire associated with the male member. Cropping out their faces removes the distraction of personality, and allows Giovanni to accomplish his goal of having the reader focusing on the variation, individuality, and overall beauty of the organs between these men's legs.The images push the boundaries of what is regarded as art, but the photos are never vulgar or pornographic. After reading the background to the cover image, even that can be seen as an expression of fraternity and male solidarity rather than sexuality.Great book, great photos, well worth buying.

This small format book is an excellent work. The photographer, who normally makes his living shooting fashion in Europe and the US, was frustrated with the focus on quick, relatively thoughtless production values in fashion photography. He decided to create a body of work that allowed him to explore his creativity, while taking the time to photograph his subjects in a manner that would be uneconomic in his usual work. He was also looking to focus on the homoerotic. He began to photograph models in the nude, focusing in various respects on their bodies and in particular their "bites" (French slang that roughly translates to "dick"), but without showing their faces. This book displays the best of the works of his project. The subjects are beautiful; most are muscular and the photography really shows off their assets. They are shown in a variety of settings -- on beds, in the shower, otherwise fully clothed but with their "bites" exposed, laying about -- but always artfully. That the photographer has chosen to show his subjects bodies without their faces creates an air of erotic mystery. Although I highly recommend this work, you should be cautioned that it is not necessarily a coffee table art book for every avant guarde home. Here, art borders on pornography. The final shot, in fact, shows a torso covered in semen. But if you enjoy that genre, you will love this book.

Take one look at the cover, and you will know the book's contents. It contains headless photos of naked men baring their penises and balls. If you're looking for a book that focuses on the phallus, this book will not disappoint.

This book was SO worth the money! It's officially my FAVORITE book ever! I look at it everyday and it makes me happy! Let's just say I get tons of pleasure by looking at these pictures, AND I am very hard to please. First off all the guys in this book are extremely, EXTREMELY hot! Second the fact you don't see their faces makes it even hotter... There's a sense of mystery about it. All the "bites" are extremely large and perfect! You also get to see all kinds of... stages that the "bites" can be in. Basically, if you love men and love looking at their "bites" you have GOT to get this book! TRUST ME!!!

I feel I must stress this point to interested buyers - more than 90% of photos are faceless, trimmed at the chin or neck. Those with partial faces are deliberately angled or off-focused. Technical brilliance aside, for me it just did not work. Many of the photos, in my opinion, are 'rip-offs' of Mapplethorpe and Quiroz. It's like watching the frame by frame reshoot of 'Psycho'by Gus Van Sant. Paying homage is one thing, being inspired is another, but when an image is almost identical - it's rather lame.Nothing confrontational or visually feral here, the front and back covers might just be the two best attempts. Don't waste your money.

The photos in this book are great, but they are presented in a small soft cover book. I was expecting a nice coffee table book for display; instead I received a little token for the bookshelf. I will need to be more careful next time.

If one both appreciates the male body and is sensitive to the highest standards of photography from composition to tones to exactly sensing the best moment to take the picture, the outstanding nature of the photographs will be appreciated and the fact that they are of the naked male body will expand the appreciation.

Pictures are consistently very HOT. Only wish it was a bit bigger...the book that is...but don't we all?

What I really liked about this series is that I never lost hope when reading this series.I enjoyed the Substitute Arc, to The Soul Society Arc, to The Arrancar Arc and it ends in quite possibly the most underrated and most unappreciated Arcs in the series. The Lost Agent and The 1,000 Year Blood War Arc.The Lost Agent Arc is a nice change of pace from the 2 previous Arcs that mostly involved long Battles and FightingIt begins with our Main Character Ichigo Kurosaki having the normal life that he always wanted but after 17 months after losing them, he realizes that he missed being a Soul Reaper and wants to get his powers back.He later encounters Kugo Ginjo and his Band called the Fullbringers, and it's filled with Mystery, Slice of life from the lesser characters, and tons of plot twist near the end. And it's my 4th favorite out of the main 5.For some reason, this Arc is given a lot of hate, and I think it's maybe because it isn't as grand or epic as the previous to Arcs. And While I enjoyed the Soul Society and The Arrancar Arcs slightly more. I really enjoyed reading this because I feel it was a nice break, and I did enjoy knowing more about the Fullbringers. And I liked it slightly more than the Substitute Arc. (In my Opinion the most Underrated Arc in the series.)And Finally The Final Arc in the series The 1,000 Year Blood War Arc. As of 2018, this is the only Arc not to be completely Animated. But there's a lot I liked about this Arc.The Story Starts of With our Main Villian Yhwach the leader of his Army of Quincies known as the Wandenreich.And it's here that we get the full story behind Ichigo's powers and how his Parents meet. And in my opinion the most Visual, Optic, Easy to read, Creative, and Out of this world Fighting that I ever experienced.You have characters who can Manipulate Fire, Ice, Fear, The Dead, Forming Materials, Transformations, And changing a character's name to mean that thing!!! and during these fighting, we get to see a lot of the characters giving tones of Backstory, Lore, and their respecting Personality. I LOVE THIS SO MUCH!!! because I never imaged that the series where it is mostly based on fighting would evolve into fights becoming more Intense, character-driven and that so many fights resolved into each of there backstories and their lore that in the end, I ended up carrying for 95% of these characters. and I never hear anyone mentioning this.Seriously? I'm I the only one that notices these things?But of course, there are some problems do need to be mention.It was around this time that the Creator of Bleach Tite Kubo was being ill and he was being rushed that not everything was completely resolved. not everyone was giving their full potential, there are still mysteries that were never solved, and it does feel rushed as it gets near the end.But by the end of the day loved how it ending, with tones of characters given needed attention, backstories, and motivation, all while the fighting is happening. and I even enjoyed the ending.To me, this series doesn't deserve all of the hate that it gets, and I'm glad that I read all the way to the very end Because the 1,000 Year Blood War, is my favorite Arc in the series. and I Hope until 2019 that Bleach will make its return and I can witness it in full animation glory.I'm so glad that I got all of the box sets and that i'll be able to read all of them untill Chrismas.Thank You Tite Kubo for giving us this amazing Series.

For the most part, it's all good. The box looks REALLY nice, it arrived in good condition. I love the bonus art booklet. But there was one massive flaw. There were two copies of volumes 62, 63, and 64, and volumes 71, 72, 73 were missing. Not exactly ideal. It won't be too much of a problem to order the missing volumes individually, but for an expensive box set like this, it shouldn't be necessary. It was probably just a mistake, but order at your own risk.Edit: On closer inspection, the box is not in good condition. I didn't notice before because the exposed cardboard is white, and the damage is in a white area of the artwork. It's actually a pretty large spot. So even more problems.

This set picks up right after the Aizen arc and covers the Fullbring and Thousand Year Blood War arcs.As soon as this arrived, I was immediately struck by how awesome the box is that all the books came in. The cardboard is sturdy and covered in beautiful full-color artwork and even has a nice plastic handle at the top for easy transport. All of the manga inside was in perfect condition, in order, and not missing any pages/books/whatever. This is an absolutely awesome set and I could not be more pleased!

Bleach is my favorite anime of all time and I finally decided to collect the manga after five years. The third box set is definitely a step up from the first and second box set in every way. Over all, I think this experience was one of the best.

My 9yo daughter loves the Judy Moody and Stink books. And I like them because they are high quality and have color photos. I hope there will be more in this series.

Finn is a firefighter and sees Chelsea and recognizes his first love from high school. He's surprised to see her here. He thought she would be well on her way to becoming a doctor. She left him to become a doctor. He went on to become a fireman. Since Chelsea doesn't have anywhere to stay, he takes her and her son Oliver to stay with him. He is immediately taken with Oliver and wonders if they had stayed together whether they would have had a son that looked like him. While they still have chemistry together, he doesn't want to give her the wrong idea but then Chelsea thinks he doesn't want her. Both sides are hurting. But Chelsea has a hard time asking for help since her parents weren't ever there for her and she had to do for herself. Can Finn keep her safe and can they have a second chance? Nice story of second chances.I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy but purchased it as I wanted a permanent copy in my library.

This story is about second chances. A second chance for Finn and Chelsea. A second chance for you to get hooked on this series if you aren't already. Finn was introduced in book one but we really get to know him in this book. Personally the fact that he's a hunky firefighter is all I need to know*sigh*. His and Chelsea's story is one that is plausible. I believe that's what made it a book I couldn't put down.*I received an Advance Reader's Copy as well as purchasing a copy which I am voluntarily reviewing*

If you like firefighter romances, you will enjoy this book. I really liked the characters, Finn and Chelsea. They were interesting, well-developed and have chemistry. The story is interesting, well-written with a happily ever after. In addition to receiving an arc, I purchased the book for my collection.

Chelsea is running from her abusive ex with their four year old son. She returns to the place she left after high school and runs into the boyfriend she left years ago. He cares about her but doesn't want to re-start their relationship. Chelsea knows she has no chance at a future with Finn when she has to run and hide from her ex. Then her ex finds her and she has to run again.Chelsea has had a hard life. Horrible parents, a controlling abusive ex, a jerk boss, no money and constantly in fear. She and her son don't deserve it and Finn wants to help, but Chelsea doesn't want to ruin his life too. She still loves him too much for that to happen.The connection between Finn and Chelsea felt real, as did her struggles. How far will two people go to protect each other and a little boy? This was an enjoyable read with a resilient woman and a determined hero.I voluntarily read an Advance Reader Copy of this book and this is my honest review.

This book surprised me as it is not a survey of the ABCs of Buddhism which so many intros try to provide yet often fall flat while doing so. Rather, this is a look at the very heart of Buddhism through some of the Dalai Lama's favorite teachings and texts. I think someone new to the subject will have so much more of a *feeling* about how Buddhism can transform the mind in such a positive and beautiful way.The four noble truths here come alive, not a flat depressing list but as a framework where things like karma and "dependent arising" come into focus in a very clear way. The next section, on one of the great short texts on training to generate the "mind of enlightenment" and the insight that sees what reality really is, is one of my favorite teachings. And the final section is based on Atisha's work that illustrates the essential points and stages of attaining Buddhahood.I have read lots on these topics before, but somehow the clarity of this presentation really hit home.Its was also nice to have a book that I could get through in a weekend.

I can't recommend this enough. I've been studying and practicing for decades, and His Holiness cuts through obscurations with the finest knife. This is not an easy read. Each sentence is very dense and powerful, and each requires reading, rereading, and meditation. The great clarity that results from reading His Holiness' teachings, however, is beyond value.

Another great book for those interested in Buddhism. If you are a current practitioner, this is a good book to have on hand for reference but really good for anyone interested in Buddhism.

Instead of going directly to classic Tibetan Buddhist spiritual works in translation, I decided on this Introduction by H.H. the Dalai Lama. It's not too long, which is good for someone who wants to check out this path without committing to a huge tome, and it's definitely not dry. It covers the basics in a conversational style, but also includes a discussion (with excerpts) of some classic Buddhist texts that give my son a taste of what Buddhist literature is like. A great place to start for an overview of Tibetan Buddhism.

This book was published in 2002 to cover version 3. We are now at 2014 and version 10, but it seems to me it is still largely relevant at the basic level. I am running a trial version of VM 10, wondering if the program will do what I want, worth to spend for the license. I find the VM Ware documentation essentially useless at this level, so I am left with installing the package on an alternate drive to see if I can make it work. With the information in this book, although dated, I think it will be worth the effort. I find the first sixty pages to be the only use to me at this level. Perhaps when I get further into the program, later chapters could become useful to me. I am moving ahead very gingerly, testing every step before I take another. I wish the book could be brought up to date to cover more current versions -- we don't need to be schooled on the differences between IDE and SCSI drives at this point, and I am sure there must be important differences in the program itself introduced over the past twelve years. Still, with all that, I am getting some good use out of it.

I am using this book to learn how to set up V machine work station on my laptop and down load diffent op- systems to develope my skills.This book is very helpful for me as a beginner in this field.

VMware is a great product but this book was terrible. It was used and a really old version of the book and essentially worthless.

I was asked to teach a class on various operating systems such as Windows 3.X, Windows 9X, NT, 2000, XP and Linux. The class was to go over the basic of each OS and the kicker was the class was to be 3 days long. With that many OSes it would have taken 3 days for installs alone, until I found VmWare.With a basic understanding of the application I managed to teach the class, if I had this book then I would have been able to do so much more. Ward has simply put together the best book on the subject matter that I ever come across.Starting right of the books delves into the virtual machine and the requirements for install and configuration. The author explains in detail what each version requires in order to have it working properly. Then there is over 100 pages just on the different guest system setups and configurations, again the author attention to detail makes this some of the most interesting reading of the book.Then the book work with networking and stand alone operations making sure you have a good understanding of the differences. Finally the author gives several pages to the troubleshooting of the application. You have tips and tricks for each OS and hints to avoiding problems before they happen.Overall this book has already given me several tips and tricks to enhancing the classes I am teaching and I am sure that I will find many others before I am through. Excellent work and if the application gets updated I certainly hope the book does as well.

This book is very well written and does a fantastic job of explaining technical topics clearly and concisely. Unfurtunately, the book is seriously out-of-date. A lot happens in the computer industry in the 12 years since this book was published!

This book is a nice companion for the sparsely documented VMware software. I've used VMware since version 1, and while it's a fabulous tool, I've always been frustrated by features that I only knew about by reading the support knowledge base. I learned about some very useful features in the book that I hadn't discovered before, such as the ability to mount an ISO image as if it were a real CD-ROM device.The writing is a bit unpolished, and could have benefited from more editing.
