My daughter loves Barbie and she loves reading, so this seemed like the perfect book for her. I do like that there are multiple books for a decent price, but even the Level 2 books do not seem as complex as some of our Step into Reading Level 2 books. The good thing about these books is that they can help peak the interest of a beginning reader who is struggling with confidence. My daughter enjoyed reading them, and she frequently flips through the book to reread parts, so that is good enough for me.
I bought these for my granddaughter for her birthday. She is in kindergarten and just learning how to read. She loves Barbie and loves to read these books. I think being a good reader is the foundation of all education. These books have captured her attention and has helped her learn sight words. She gets a big kick of pointing out the words she knows and accepts the challenge to sound out some words as well. These are great books. An added bonus is these books are a good way to remind her she can be anything she wants to be when she grows up.
This was purchased as a gift and is too late to return. First and last stories are not correctly printed and stories are not complete. Three middle stories are fine.
I have six children of my own and teaching them to read is an important challenge. I think the Barbie story collection is GREAT! It "Hits the Spot" perfectly. The book uses a lot of high frequency words. It starts off a little easy and each story gets a little more challenging. The content of the book is nice too. My daughter loves it.
My 6 year old loves to read these stories. We rented it from the library at first. And then bought it because she liked it so much.
My beginning reader loves this book because she can read it herself, with a little help on some of the words. Great collection, and much cheaper than buying each book individually.
I didn't realize this was a single book with five stories within it until I received it but it's a great book for young kids
My 5yo received this for her birthday and promptly read the whole thing the next day. She loves it and has continued re-reading it often. If you have a new reader and they love Barbie, then this is ideal. They may need help with a few words and names, but overall it's great!
