#3,865 Paid in Kindle Store (See Top 100 Paid in Kindle Store)

The story has a few holes but is not bad, though hard as it tries, this is not a Jack Reacher-calibre book, and Sinclair is no Lee Child (though in fairness it probably took Child a few attempts to find his perfect voice). I found the main character reasonably believable, but the supporting characters for the most part were fairly flat (especially Angela Grainger, an FBI agent who seems to weep crocodile tears at the drop of a hat). Also, the author being English is therefore better at crafting dialogue for a Brit, but he needs a bit of work at American dialogue.I purchased both Carl Logan books together and am a few chapters into the second one now. So far it seems better (maybe I just want it to be, time will tell). Perhaps the fact that there are no significant other characters yet is helping.

10/4, Voie Georges Pompidou (Seine River), Paris, France. American Embassy.AG Frank Modena (US), Laura (younger asst), & Special Agent Carlson (Foreign Service, ex-military) were in the Escalade.Bridges (driver) was not having any luck avoiding the gunfire.Pedestrians up/down the street were screaming & running for cover.2 other Agents had been killed.4 assailants stood in front of the limo & demanded everyone out or else.Special Agent Carlson stepped out & was killed immediately.Laura & Bridges were next.AG Modena was kidnapped.Philip Greenwood, Randall Curtis, Mackie (50+, Joint Intelligence Agency C/O), Charles McCabe, Peter Winter (Charles’ asst.), CIA Jay Lindegaard, John Sanderson (SIS, MI6),were in/at the JIA committee meeting.FBI SA Carl Logan had been assigned to the case.Saint-Joseph Hospital. FBI SA Logan went to see Jean Vincent.Youssef Selim (Algerian terrorist, aka Rabah Assad) was holding Frank Modena captive.FBI SA Angela “Angie” Grainger (Carl’s lover), & FBI SA Logan were going to get him back safe/unharmed.Dunkirk (port town), France. FBI SA Grainger, & FBI SA Logan had arrived at their designated area/target.Warning: This book contains extremely graphic adult content, violence, or expletive language &/or uncensored sexually explicit material which is only suitable for mature readers. It may be offensive or have potential adverse psychological effects on the reader.I did not receive any type of compensation for reading & reviewing this book. While I receive free books from publishers & authors, I am under no obligation to write a positive review. Only an honest one.A very awesome book cover, great font & writing style. A very well written FBI thriller book. It was very easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great set of unique characters to keep track of. This could also make another great FBI thriller movie, or better yet a mini TV series. To be continued. There is no doubt in my mind this is a very easy rating of 5 stars.Thank you for the free author; Vesey Manor Publishing; Amazon Digital Services LLC.; bookTony Parsons MSW (Washburn)

This book had so many twists and turns, my head was spinning. I never foresaw that ending, not in a million years. Wow.When I started reading this book I wondered about the title and how it fit in with the story-line, well it was only at the end that I realized the significance. Rob Sinclair is a master at portraying his characters and tense situations. As a reader I was with Carl and later Angela every step of the way. Maybe I was too involved with the story to be objective about all the happenings. :-)I am overjoyed to see that the second book in the series is available. I cannot wait to pick it up and continue on this adventure.Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with the opportunity to read and review this book.

Dance with the enemy is an action spy thriller that follows agent Carl Logan as he is dispatched by his British intelligence agency, the JIA, to track down the person's behind the brazen kidnapping of the US secretary of state. The crime is linked to a notorious international terrorist, but it is not that simple. There are many plot twist and intrigue along the way.The main story includes Logan hooking up with a female FBI agent who is also working the case. Together, they get into and out of several scrapes and narrowly miss catching the bad guys as they careen through the story amid gunshots, fist fights, and car chases. The main characters had complex back stories and the personal relationship between Logan and FBI agent Angela Grainger is itself like a third central character. The story moves along quickly and is a good and entertaining read. There are some British idioms and spelling that the American eye has to get used to, and the British author’s views of Americans and the FBI may raise an eyebrow, but the book on the whole is engaging. There are some pretty big plot holes and leaps of faith and logic, some times when the author forgets that his character just suffered a major injury and yet can still move and fight like a healthy soldier, and a surprise twist that seems overly complex and rather unnecessary. The depiction of agent Grainger as tough and competent but also prone to emotional breakdowns and helplessness is sometimes hard to reconcile, even at the end. But the deficiencies in the story are only minor distractions from enjoying the narrative and in the end I would recommend the read.

Everything about the semi washed up hero, his spy organization, the story, and even the outcome, seemed conjured up from a blender of modern day usual suspects, plots, locations, and relationships.I would not call it gripping. You quickly get about halfway thru and keep hoping something neat and different will happen, until you just decide to finish because you are closer to the end than the beginning.
