While the intended audience for this cookbook may be those that follow a Paleo Diet, I am only on a gluten and dairy free diet, but I am so grateful that I found this book. I am not a great cook or planner by any means, and planning out meals overwhelms me. I have 3 boys and trying to plan food they will like on top of my food allergies is a nightmare. I have tried looking around on the internet or in other cookbooks but most meal plans are incomplete and only give you dinners or have a lot of blank days. This book has a meal planned out for every day for an entire month, and even tells you how to add bulk to each meal if you need more food. The shopping lists are perfect and organized by where in the store you will find everything. There’s even room to write in other items if you need them.With this book I have been able to make 2 weeks’ worth of delicious meals already, and my boys (aged 4-13) have all loved every single thing we have eaten. That has NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE! The author understands how to make food taste good for both kids and adults without it being complicated. The pork ragout, orange salmon and lemon and thyme chicken thighs are a new favorite in my family. I also learned some good cooking tips that I didn’t know before, such as why chicken skin sticks to the pan. My oldest son is my pickiest eater and even he has been flipping through the book and asking for me to cook him things. My younger son drank a smoothie with avocado in it last week and loved it. He won’t go anywhere near an avocado usually.This cookbook has been such a blessing for my family and it has made my weeks so much easier. There’s no more worrying about food and no more fighting at the dinner table about not wanting to eat the food I cooked. Thank You.

I have been doing paleo for 6 months. I am down 32 pounds and never feel deprived of food Or flavor. I have been following Amy's blog since the beginning. I love her recipes and personality so I knew I had to get her book. It does not disappoint and I am enjoying reading through her stories and cooking advice as much as I am enjoying the food. This is by far my favorite cookbook and I own many.

I agree with the previous reviewer, this book is a lot more fun than the cover would lead you to believe. I have some things I think are absolute requirements for a good cookbook, and this book has all of those and then some:Photo for every single recipeEasy to open and KEEP open on the counterClear instructions and steps for every recipeExplanations for why and how to use techniques or stepsApproachable recipes that offer variety without having hard to find ingredientsUnique and engaging author voice that really shines through and makes me want to actually read the bookThe photo index in the back is a total bonus and I love itOnly thing I would change would be to have the meal plans and shopping lists be pull out pages, but I actually just made a few copies of them at work and then I didn't have to rip out the pages from the book.

I was a little hesitant to purchase this book because the cover looked a bit stuffy. But after reading the reviews and scanning though the first few pages I decided to bite the bullet.Despite the cover the content inside is very light, fun and engaging. I rarely read recipe introductions but I found myself enjoying the authors stories and kitchen tips. I have only made 2 recipes so far but both were delicious. The pork vindaloo is the best I have ever had hands down. There are a good number of unique recipes in this book that are creative but also easy to make which I appreciate. I like to try new things once in a while but I also like to fall back on old favorites and this has a nice balance of both. I am impressed.

Fantastic paleo cookbook. I love the authors sense of humor and the kitchen tips are very helpful. The food itself is delicious and not overly complicated to cook. The ingredients are easy to find too. Recommend to anyone on a Paleo diet or wanting to eat better.

Amy, I just wanted to let you know that your cookbook has changed my life in a very positive way! I decided to start the Paleo diet when I saw that nothing else offered a long term plan for eating healthy and staying fit. All of the other diets I had tried wanted you to buy into their plans and purchase all sorts of nasty food supplements and chemical tasting protein bars. It just wasn't a good idea for a long term goal of being self sustaining and free to eat like a normal person. Your cookbook saved me. I was able to quickly put together a weekly plan and then go to the grocery store and buy fresh, natural, healthy foods that were easy to assemble following the recipes you provided. I especially love the way you did the visual index in the back of the book with photos of the finished dishes in a thumbnail format. That really makes it easy to plan meals when you can visualize what you're going to be making. I've made so many of your recipes so far, and really love them all. Your chicken piccata, creamy leek soup, Scotch eggs, roasted asparagus with lemon sauce, guacamole and Paleo meaty spaghetti sauce are all awesome! I started my Paleo journey the Tuesday after Memorial Day, and I've lost 12.5 pounds so far in just 13 days! I can't thank you enough for being a huge part in that success. I can't wait to hear about your next cookbook. I can't recommend this one enough.
